Dubois Museum & Wind River Historical Center

This charming museum draws you along from the ancient geology of the area, through its remarkable collection of Mountain Shoshone artifacts, on to the history of homesteaders and the early “dude” ranches. Take advantage of the authentic cabins outside, which bring the Western experience, tie hack, and cowboy history to life. The museum is well known for its seminars and guided treks. Ask at the front desk about custom guided tours of petroglyphs, native sheep trap and buffalo drive sites, and more. fremontcountymuseums.com duboismuseum.director@gmail.com

    National Bighorn Sheep Center

One of the nation’s largest herds of wild bighorn sheep live in the mountains near Dubois. The exhibits at the National Bighorn Sheep Center portray the habitat and habits of these remarkably adaptive animals. You may be able to spot them on the cliffs during one of the center’s eco or wildlife tours with our local guides. We also do guided tours and activities at the center. For 30 years, our mission has been to provide education and outreach for the national conservation of wild sheep, wildlife, and wildlands. 10 Bighorn Lane, Dubois, WY 82513 307-455-3429
