Biking
It neither needs hay nor does it need to be saddled up - the mountain bike. And it is you who is climbing that hill or slope. You can ride your bike in almost all National Forest land (not in wilderness areas) and enjoy the effort you made to get to this secluded mountain lake or that creek that runs down in cascades.
Maybe you want to discover the rough silence of the badlands. They have already attracted Butch Cassidy (he was on a horse, though). Anyhow, trails are numerous. Come and ride them!
Please watch some simple rules. You share the trails with hikers and horse trips. Please don't scare them. Horses always have the right of way. Stop your bike, don't make rush movements. Let the horses see you.
